Why are you nominating this candidate?
Les Clefs d’Or Sweden is a newly revitalized national section and Erik Montoya, from Gothenburg, is our first international member outside of Stockholm. From the very start, Erik has impressed the Swedish board with his passion, professionalism and eagerness to learn. Being the only member outside of the capital city, it takes a person who is passionate about the concierge profession in general and Les Clefs d’Or in particular to make it work. Erik has become Les Clefs d’Or Sweden’s point person for our expansion beyond Stockholm. He is always eager to learn how senior members in Stockholm work with each other and how we utilize our contact network here, in turn building his own network in Gothenburg which is something that benefits the whole section. Through his own initiative, Erik takes part in board meetings via Skype as well as facilitating board member visits to Gothenburg and partaking himself in our events in Stockholm. We feel that Erik Montoya has a long, rich career ahead of him as a Les Clefs d’Or Concierge and know that being a candidate for the Les Clefs d’Or Award, honoring Pierre Quentin, will be an amazing opportunity for him.
Describe the process you used to select your candidate:
Currently, with 13 international members, Les Clefs d’Or Sweden does not yet have national award competition in place to facilitate the process of choosing a candidate, instead it is left to Sweden’s BOD. As such, Erik Montoya is our member who meets the nomination criteria and who has expressed interest in being our section’s candidate. Sean Naughton, Les Clefs d’Or Sweden’s president, and Dennis Sihlberg, former candidate for the Young Concierge Award in honor of Andy Pongco, have had lengthy discussions with Erik all through autumn in order to explain what being a candidate entails and what he can expect from the process as well as the benefits of being a candidate.
